South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Wondai Country Markets
The Wondai Regional Art Gallery's monthly Wondai Country Markets will be operating at Coronation Park in Wondai's CBD from 7:00am to 12:00 noon this morning. The markets feature stallholders selling fresh fruit and vegetables, arts and crafts, useful knick-knacks and clothing. There'll also be live entertainment; lots of other stalls selling great gifts and goodies; and special hand-made treasures from local artisans. The BBQs will also be firing up from around 6:45am to dish out hearty breakfasts for early bargain hunters. New stallholders are always very welcome (stall fees range from $10 with power and water available, if needed), and you can obtain more details by phoning the Wondai Regional Art Gallery on (07) 4168-5926.
Junior Motorcycle Club Race Day - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Junior Motorcycle Speedway Club will be holding a McDonald's Double Header Club Day on the main oval of Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy (but use the Avoca Street entrance) with racing from around 10:00am through until early this afternoon and will include the club's annual Barry Stead Memorial Day race. The club is for young motorcycle riders aged 4 to 16 and spectators are very welcome, with free admission. More details? Phone 0407-623-012. Nanango Mini Market
The Nanango Mini Market, which runs on the 4th Saturday of each month (except January) outside the Churchyard Opp Shop at the corner of Drayton and Burnett Streets in Nanango, will be running from 7:00am to around noon this morning. Apart from offering great bargains at great prices - ranging from plants to craft work, DVDs, bric-a-brac, glassware, books, jewellery, photographic work and mosaic art - the markets also have a $3 sausage sizzle, $1.00 soft drinks ($2 for a coke) and gold coin donation tea and coffee if you get peckish. Community Resilience And Emergency Services Expo - East Nanango
The South Burnett Regional Council will be running a free Community Resilience And Emergency Services Expo at the East Nanango Rural Fire Brigade's shed at 204 Brights Road in East Nanango from 10:00am to 2:00pm today. The Expo will offer QFES demonstrations, a free BBQ, drinks and evacuation kit items to help prepare residents for emergencies. Everyone is welcome! Note: Another Expo will be held at Ballogie on June 8.
Nanango Men's Shed
The Nanango Men's Shed at the corner of Mt Stanley Road and Heathermore Lane, Nanango will be open from 8:30am to around 12:30pm today for its regular Saturday get-together. Mud Women Mothers & Daughters - Proston
The South Burnett Regional Council will be running a Mud Women Mothers & Daughters session for women and their daughters (aged 12 or above) at the QCWA Rooms at 37 Rodney Street, Proston from 10:00am to 12:00 noon this morning. For $30, guests can create unfired clay sculptures and decorate them with crystals, stones, beads, sticks, feathers or shells to construct their own unique family memorabilia items. Places are limited, however, and bookings need to be made online at Eventbrite
Goodger Farmers Market

Clovely Estate Gala Dinner - Moffatdfale
Clovely Estate will be hosting a Gala Dinner at their Barambah Vineyard Cottage at the heritage-listed Barambah Homestead in Moffatdale from 5:30pm (dinner is served at 6:30pm) until late tonight. For $95 per head, guests will receive a complimentary drink and canapes on arrival followed by a curated four-course dinner prepared by Sydney-based chef Will Beedham along with suggestions for pairings with Clovely's wines. Murgon Men's Shed
The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding a meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the shed next to the former Murgon Railway Station) today. The Men's Shed meets every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday to work on projects and new members are always welcome.
Twilight Markets - Goomeri
In preparation for tomorrow's Goomeri Pumpkin Festival, the Festival committee will be running Twilight Markets in Goomeri's Market Square from 3:00pm to 10:00pm tonight. The markets will feature lots of food vans along with stall-holders selling everything from homewares to clothing, plus a beer garden run by Your Mates Brewing Co. and live music from rising country music star Jake Whittaker. There's no admission and everyone is welcome.
Saturday Morning Tennis - Blackbutt

Bookfest - Yarraman
The Yarraman & District Historical Society will be holding a Bookfest at Heritage House at 26 Millar Street, Yarraman today and tomorrow between 8:00am and 4:00pm as a fundraiser. There'll be lots of books available at bargain prices, and tea and coffee will be available as well. Everyone is welcome!
Maidenwell Country Markets
The inaugural Maidenwell Country Markets will be held outside the Maidenwell Hotel from 8:00am to 1:00pm today. The markets will feature arts and crafts, plants, fruit and veg, clothing and local produce and will run on the last Saturday of every moth. Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Parkrun - Blackbutt
The Blackbutt parkrun group will be holding its weekly 5km timed walk/run along the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail at Blackbutt from 7:00am this morning. The starting line is adjacent to the Roy Emerson Museum, off Bowman Road. Runners follow a course along the former railway line and the parkrun group is free to join. All you need to do is register (once) online (it's officially called the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail parkrun) and bring the printed barcode to any parkrun event.
Yarraman Holistic Markets
The Yarraman Progress Association's Yarraman Markets will be held on the vacant block at the corner of the D'Aguilar and New England Highways (ie opposite Bendigo Bank) in Yarraman from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon today. The markets are held on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Saturday each month and they feature trash and treasure stalls, car boot sellers, local produce and hand-made goods, as well as food stalls. Wooroolin Line Dancers
The Wooroolin Line Dancers will be holding a line dancing class for beginners and intermediate line dancers at Wooroolin Hall on the Bunya Highway at Wooroolin from 9:00am to 10:00am this morning (for beginners) and 10:00am to 12:30pm (for intermediates). Course fees are $5 each for the beginners and intermediate classes, or you can do both for $10. Everyone is welcome.
