Chess - The Musical
The South Burnett Musical Comedy Society will be presenting their third performance of "Chess - The Musical" at Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street, Kingaroy from 1:00pm until 4:00pm this afternoon. Chess traces the story of a politically driven, Cold War-era chess tournament between two grand masters - one American and the other Soviet - and their fight over a woman who manages one and falls in love with the other. The lead role in this stunning 29-person production will be played by Julee-anne Bell (who wowed Australia on The Voice in 2022), all set against a musical score written by ABBA's Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus with lyrics by Tim Rice. Tickets to Chess are $30 for adults or $20 for students/concessions and they can be booked online or purchased at the door. Note: There'll be three additional performances next Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
