South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Burnett Visionary Women - Wondai
BIEDO will be hosting a Burnett Visionary Women workshop at Wondai Town Hall in Mackenzie Street, Wondai from 9:00am to 3:00pm today. Guest speakers include Katie Zerner (who'll discuss visions and goals), Heather Ellis (how to become fabulous), Marcia Hunt (good health habits) and Felicity Dascombe (how to navigate challenges). South Burnett Autism Support Group
The South Burnett Autism Support Group will be holding its second Friday of the month meeting at the Salvation Army Hall at 107 Kingaroy St, Kingaroy at 6:30pm this evening (child care is available for a small fee). Friday BBQ Feed - Blackbutt
Blackbutt RSL at the corner of Douglas and Muir Streets in Blackbutt will be running a Friday BBQ Feed from 5:00pm today. The 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗪𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗕𝗕𝗤 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗸 will be offering a range of slow-cooked treats and the RSL will also be selling nuggets and hot chips for $6 per serve as a fundraiser for Legacy. In addition, the Blackbutt Car Enthusiasts Club will be bringing along some members cars to show (always as treat for car buffs). Everyone is welcome!
Cuppa And Chat Group
Kingaroy's Cuppa and Chat Group will be holding its weekly meeting at The Biscuit Tin behind St Mary's Church at 15 Albert Street, Kingaroy from 10:00am to around 11:00am today. Friday Night At The Shed - Nanango
The Shed in Little Drayton Street, Nanango (just next to the Scott Car Park) will be open from 7:00pm until late tonight for local musicians and anyone else who enjoys music to come along, bring their instruments and jam in a relaxed and informal setting, or just sit on the Shed's lounges, listen in and enjoy the wide variety of talent on offer. Never 2 Old 2 Rock & Roll - Kilkivan
The Kilkivan Bush Camping and Caravan Park at 577 Rossmore Road in Kilkivan will be hosting the first day of their 2-day Never 2 Old 2 Rock & Roll weekend from 4:00pm until late tonight. The event will kick off with Rock & Roll dance classes where experienced instructors will teach guests the proper moves and grooves, followed by live rock and roll music until late. The park's catering team will also be serving up foods all night, and campsites are available if you want to make a full weekend of it. Blackbutt History Morning
The Blackbutt and District Tourism and Heritage Association will be holding a History Morning from 9:30am to around 12:00 noon today at the Roy Emerson Museum at the end of Hart Street, Blackbutt (opposite the skate park). This month's get-together will host a talk from guest speaker Alena Knaggs, a descendant of the Douglass family who was born and bred in Blackbutt and who will be sharing her decades of memories about the town. Everyone with an interest in history - particularly Timbertowns and district history - or the BDTHA's magnificent Blackbutt trailhead gardens and buildings is very welcome, and morning tea will be available for just $2. Harrington Circus Show - Murgon
The Harrington Circus Show will be running at the Murgon Showgrounds in Macalister Street, Murgon from today until Sunday, offering an all-new 50-minute performance under a heated Big Top. Today there'll be an evening show at 7:00pm and tomorrow there'll be two shows (at 4:00pm and 7:00pm), followed by a final performance at noon on Sunday. Kingaroy East Women will play Kingaroy West Women under lights at the Kingaroy soccer fields at the end of Oliver Bond Street, Kingaroy at 6:15pm this evening, followed by a second match between Kingaroy West Men and Nanango Men Blue at 7:45pm. Spectators and supporters are very welcome and there's no admission fee.
Friday Night Rugby League - Wondai
The Wondai Sportsgrounds off the Bunya Highway north of Wondai's CBD will be hosting an U14s match between Wondai and Cherbourg at 5:30pm tonight, followed by a second U14s clash between Murgon and Nanango at 6:30pm and then an Open Women's match between South Burnett and Fraser Coast at 7:30pm. Spectators and supporters are very welcome!
South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 1A (Lot 3) Railway Terrace in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items). Alcoholics Anonymous - Murgon
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. AA isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution. AA meets in Murgon every Wednesday and Friday at 12:30pm at the Baptist Church at 94 Macalister Street, and members who can't make it in person can join in the meeting online via Zoom.
