Renewables Public Meeting - Kumbia
The South Burnett Regional Council is hosting a community information session, "Renewables At What Cost?", this evening at Kumbia Memorial Hall by wildlife photographer and former Greens candidate Steven Nowakowski who has become an active anti-wind farm campaigner in recent years, doing interviews and speaking alongside politicians and community activists at rallies. Community Burns - Cherbourg
- Cherbourg residents have been invited to learn more about cultural burns from 9:00am this morning in Wakka Wakka Park, Cherbourg. Information will be shared by the Wakka Wakka Native Title Aboriginal Corporation, Bunya Peoples Aboriginal Corporation, Wakka Wakka Rangers, Firestick and the Rural Fire Brigade. There'll also be a free barbecue at 11:00am for Elders and community members who want to get involved. Everyone taking part should wear closed-in shoes, a long short and long trousers.
Biggest Morning Tea - Widgee
- A Biggest Morning Tea to raise funds for Cancer Council Queensland will be held from 10:30am this morning at the Widgee Bushman's Bar at 22 Upper Widgee Road. Entry is $20 which includes coffee and tea and a big selection of cakes and sandwiches. There will also be raffles.
Murgon Pantry Grand Opening

- The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 1A (Lot 3) Railway Terrace in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low-income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $50 or $35 options to select food and the other items.

The Murgon Pantry has $50 pre-packed hampers for sale so pre-registration online would assist, although cash will be accepted on the day (correct change would be appreciated).
Alcoholics Anonymous - Kingaroy
- Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for membership. AA isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution.
