South Burnett Express Rail Trail Relay
The 5th annual South Burnett Express Rail Trail Relay will be held on the South Burnett Rail Trail between 6:00am and 1:30pm today. Runners have to complete a section of the 60km course from Kingaroy to Wondai and return, passing on the baton to their next team member after running about 5km. There'll also be a special 1km children's race! Spectators are very welcome to view the race's finish at the Kingaroy rail trail head in Youngman Street from about 12:30pm onwards. There'll also be a sausage sizzle in O'Neill Square with presentations about 1:30pm
Eco Bites - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Sustainable Future Network will be holding an Eco Bites: Batteries & Solar session with a guest speaker at the Kingaroy RSL Club, in Markwell Street, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm this afternoon. This is a community gathering to discuss ways to reduce our environmental footprint, and everyone is welcome to attend!
Fill The World With Music - Haly Creek
The South Burnett Chorale will be "filling the world with music" at their annual mid-year concert at Taabinga Homestead, 7 Old Taabinga Road, Haly Creek. There'll be uplifting music in the shed in the grounds of the historic homestead from 2:00pm. Tickets are just $20, which includes a delicious afternoon tea! Children 12 and under are free. Tickets can be booked online or at the door!
Walk Through Time Markets - Kilkivan
- The monthly Kilkivan markets - held on the last Sunday of the month (February to November) are on again from 9:00am to 3:00pm today at 2a Bligh Street (opposite the hotel). Bunya Mountains Markets
The Bunya Mountains Markets, held on the last Sunday of every month, will be running at Dandabah in the Bunya Mountains today. The markets feature up to 30 stands selling quality, locally produced fresh produce, arts and crafts and they'll be operating from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Local cafés like Poppies On The Hill and The Bunya Mountains Café will be offering special Market Day menus and morning teas, lunches and afternoon teas. Walking trail maps will be available from both cafés, the Bunya Mountains General Store and market stalls if you'd like to take a stroll through the adjoining National Park. More details? Korean War Commemoration - Nanango
- A service will be held at the Nanango cenotaph, on the corner of Drayton and Henry streets, at 10:00am this morning. Attendees will then be invited to the Nanango Services Club where the Burnett Celtic Pipes and Drums will be playing from 11:00am.
Senior Soccer - Kingaroy
POSTPONED Kingaroy Soccer club will be hosting two men's home games from the Darling Downs Community competition today at Tom Alford Oval in Oliver Bond Street, Kingaroy. At 11:00am, Kingaroy Division 2 v Rockville Rovers; and at 1:00pm, Kingaroy Division 1 v TNUniSQ. The canteen will be open for lunch, drinks and snacks.
Kumbia Museum
- The Kumbia and District Historical Society's museum, located in the Federation Heritage Centre behind Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, will be open from 1:30pm to 3:30pm this afternoon. Stonehouse Open Day - Moore
The historic Stonehouse on the D'Aguilar Highway at Moore will be holding Day 2 of it Open Day weekend today. This annual weekend will allow visitors to inspect progress on the restoration of this historic Brisbane Valley property by new owners Loretta and John Eastwood, but because parking on the site is limited access will be by shuttle bus only. Buses will be running every 15 minutes from the rotunda off the highway in Moore to the Stonehouse (from 8:30am to 4:00pm). Tickets are $10 (or $30 for a family of two adults any any number of children 12 years of age or below). Community Pickleball - Woolooga
- Woolooga Community Hall is hosting community pickleball every Sunday from 3:30pm at the hall at 8 Thomas Street, Woolooga. Everyone is welcome to come along, including beginners. All equipment is provided at the court, so just bring water!
Queensland Youth Orchestra Wind Symphony - Kingaroy
- The Queensland Youth Orchestra will be bringing their Wind Symphony to Kingaroy in a free concert from 11:00am. The performance, part of a regional Queensland tour, will be at the Kingaroy Performing Arts Centre (KPAC), in the school grounds at the end of Markwell Street.
Shanleigh Rose - Linville

Sunday Afternoon Poker - Kingaroy

Hivesville Country Markets
The monthly Hivesville Country Markets will be held at Memorial Park (opposite the Hivesville Hotel in Main Street) from 7:00am to around noon this morning. These family-friendly markets are held on the 4th Sunday of every month (except December) and feature a variety of stalls including fresh local farm produce, plants, crafts and lots of food. New stallholders are very welcome, too!
Free Sunday Lunch - Kingaroy
- A free community lunch is available every Sunday from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at The Old Railway Station building, O'Neill Square, in Kingaroy. The Community Serving Community Meals Project is co-ordinated by the South Burnett Support Alliance and relies on volunteers from the local community.
