NAIDOC Week Celebration - Cherbourg
Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council's annual community NAIDOC celebrations will be held from 10:00am to 2:00pm today in Anzac Memorial Park, Barambah Avenue, Cherbourg. There'll be entertainment, a performance by the Wakka Wakka Dancers, stalls, children's activities and a free BBQ lunch. Council's annual NAIDOC Community Acknowledgement Awards will also be announced. NAIDOC Week celebrates Indigenous arts and culture and the unique and important role that First Nations people play in forging Australia's national identity. Everyone is welcome!
Bushfire Preparedness Drop-In - Yarraman
- Rural Fire Service Queensland volunteers will be at the Yarraman Library from 2:00pm to 4:00pm this afternoon to help local residents prepare for the upcoming bushfire season. Drop in at any time to ask questions about bushfire risks, learn practical tips on how to prepare your home, learn how to create a bushfire survival plan and how to apply for a permit to burn.
Coffee With A Cop - Kingaroy
Kingaroy police will be holding an informal "Coffee With A Cop" at the Donut shop in the Kingaroy Mall from 10:00am to 11:00am this morning. The session is a great chance to meet local police in an informal setting, ask them any questions you like and share any concerns you might have.
Art Workshop - Nanango

The South Burnett Gem and Fossicking Club will be holding their regular Tuesday workshops at their clubhouse in the old Wondai Railway Station in Coronation Park (just down from the art gallery). There are two regular get-togethers held on Tuesdays: from 8:30am to noon; and from 4:30pm to around 8:00pm. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 1A (Lot 3) Railway Terrace in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low-income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $50 or $35 options to select food and the other items.
Alcoholics Anonymous - Murgon
- Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for membership. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution.
