South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Spirit Of The Bush Balladeers Muster - Boondooma
The fourth day of the six-day Spirit Of The Bush Balladeers & Heritage Muster will be held at Boondooma Homestead at 8262 Durong-Mundubbera Road, Boondooma today. This popular annual campout week features lots of Australia's top bush balladeers and poets along with walk-up artists. The Muster routinely attracts 700 to 800 caravanners plus day-trippers, and in addition to bucketloads of non-stop music there'll also be great camp oven meals, a licensed bar, barbecue, stalls and historic displays. Admission is $110 per person for the festival. Bookings are essential as COVID-19 restrictions apply. Tickets can be booked online (day rates also available). Bush camping is also available on-site and can be booked by phoning the Homestead's caretakers on (07) 4168-0159. NB. No EFTPOS available on site.
Cheap As Chips Family Night - Kumbia
Here's something different! The Kumbia Hall Committee will be running their first-ever Cheap As Chips Family Night in the Bell Street hall at Kumbia from 5:30pm until late this evening. For just $10 per person or $25 for a family of four (additional children $5 each), guests can enjoy a great fish and chip dinner and dessert plus bottomless tea or coffee, or BYO refreshments if they prefer something different. There'll also be trivia games, music and children's activities to keep everyone amused. To help plan the catering an RSVP by April 20 is necessary, though - but you can pay at the door on the night. Kingaroy RSL Bingo
Bingo games will be running at Kingaroy RSL from 9:30am this morning (eyes down at 10:30am). There'll be multiple jackpots on offer, along with book games and raffles, and proceeds will go to help local good causes. Everyone is welcome. More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4162-1755.
Cuppa And Chat Group
Kingaroy's Cuppa and Chat Group will be holding its weekly meeting at The Biscuit Tin behind St Mary's Church at 15 Albert Street, Kingaroy from 10:00am to around 11:00am today. As the name suggests, members enjoy a cuppa and biscuits baked in the community kitchen, and simply chat about whatever interests them. More details? Anzac Day Commemoration Service - Proston
Proston State School will be holding its traditional Anzac Day Commemoration Service in the school's Rodney Street grounds at 9:30am this morning, followed by morning tea in the school's library afterwards. The service is open to the general public and everyone is welcome. Note: Proston will also hold a Dawn Service this Sunday at the Collingwood Street cenotaph at 5:30am.
Line Dancing - Yarraman

Judy Small At The Shed - Nanango
Mo award winning folk singer (and retired Federal Circuit Court judge) Judy Small AM will be performing at The Shed next to Scott Car Park in Little Drayton Street, Nanango at 7:00pm tonight. Judy has produced more than a dozen albums over her 50 year career and tonight's performance will be the first time she's ever been to the South Burnett. Tickets are strictly limited - possibly already sold out - but you can make an enquiry by phoning Jane on 0400-631-677. The Shed will also have a coffee van on-site for pre and post show lattes.
Mayor's Community Charity Breakfast RSVP Deadline
Today is the last day you can book and pay for tickets to attend the annual Mayor's Community Charity Breakfast which will be held at Kingaroy RSL next Friday, April 30. The breakfast is a fundraiser for Relay For Life, and you can get all the details on this page of our website
Friday Croquet - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Croquet Club will be playing croquet games at the rear of the Kingaroy Cricket Club in Youngman Street, Kingaroy (just next to Beangrowers) from 9:00am to around 11:30am this morning. The Proston Golf Club on Brigooda Road, Proston will be holding a Friday afternoon social golf game today. Names need to be in by 2:00pm for a 2:30pm tee-off, and everyone is welcome. Manumbar Campdraft
The first day of the three-day Manumbar Campdraft will be held at the Manumbar Campdraft Grounds at 3896 Manumbar Road today, kicking off at 8:00am this morning with a Maiden and the first 80 in the Novice class, and continuing until dusk. This year's campdraft will feature a Maiden, Novice, Junior, Juvenile, Restricted Open and Open Drafts, as well as pony club events for children tomorrow. Free on-site camping is available, and takeaway meals are available as well if hunger strikes. Admission to the campdraft is 100% free for spectators and everyone is welcome. More details? Senior Soccer - Kingaroy
Round 1 of the modified 2021 competition begins this evening at Tom Alford Oval in Kingaroy. Nine-a-side men's and women's teams will be competing from 6:30pm.
South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
