About Our
Recipes
How the recipes on our
site came about
In March 2002 the
Queensland Department of Primary Industries invited all the South Burnett's
most prominent chefs to take part in a Regional Cuisine cooking competition
held in conjunction with the annual
Wine & Food In The Park
Festival in Kingaroy.
The competition required
all entrants to prepare dishes that used foods grown in the South Burnett
- and the seven recipes presented on this web site were the seven winning
dishes on the day.
A full-colour South Burnett
Regional Cuisine Cookbook is currently in preparation and is expected
to be released in early December 2002. This cookbook will feature
many more delicious recipes, and when it's released you'll be able to obtain
copies from:
-
any of the South Burnett's
four Visitor Information Centres
(located at Nanango, Kingaroy, Wondai and Murgon)
-
from other outlets in the
South Burnett, and also
-
directly through this web
site using secure SSL ordering facilities.
An announcement about the
release of the cookbook will be displayed on the front of this web site as
soon as it becomes available.
