South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Inverlaw Hall 100th Anniversary Ball
Inverlaw Hall on the Burrandowan Road (roughly 20km from Kingaroy) will be holding a 1920s-themed evening wear dinner followed by a 100th Anniversary Ball from 5:30pm (when dinner will start being served) until late tonight. This month, music will be supplied by Mystique and there'll be the usual great supper and novelties, along with a Lucky Door. Admission fees for the dinner are $25 for adults, $15 for U15s or $12 for U12s, and for the ball - which gets underway at 7:30pm - they're $15 for adults or $7 for high school students (U12s are free). Clay Therapy Workshop - Kingaroy
Renowned local potter Fay Stumm will be holding a Clay Therapy Workshop at the 1913 Council Chambers in Edward Street, Kingaroy (behind the Visitor Information Centre) from 8:30am to around 4:00pm today. The workshop is part of Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery's Winter Crafts Festival and will teach participants how to create an elegant vase using coil and slab techniques. The main focus will be the embellishment of the form, using texture, additions and other decorative techniques, and oxides will also be used to add colour and highlights to your masterpiece. Love 2 Sing Karaoke - Murgon

South Burnett Chorale 25th Anniversary Concert - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Chorale are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year, and they'll be marking it with a 25th Anniversary Concert at St John's Lutheran Church Hall and the corner of Markwell and Youngman Streets, Kingaroy at 2:00pm this afternoon (doors open at 1:00pm). In addition to a great concert that will leave you with a song in your heart and a smile on your face, the event will also feature a mini cent auction, a lucky door prize and a great afternoon tea, and admission is just $10 (U12s are free). Snez At The Shed - Nanango
Bellingen musician Snez will be performing at The Shed in Little Drayton Street, Nanango (just next to the Scott car park) from 7:00pm until around 11:00pm tonight. Snez has just released her 4th album "Fisher On The Sea" and she'll be playing several numbers from it tonight. Snez plays solo guitar, bouzouki, bodhran and vocals and she'll be accompanied by her partner Stewart Peters on ukelele bass, guitar and vocals. Murgon Men's Shed
The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding a meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the shed next to the former Murgon Railway Station) today. The Men's Shed meets every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday to work on projects and new members are always welcome.
Wondai Parkrun
The Wondai parkrun group will be holding their weekly 5km timed runs at Coronation Park in Wondai at 7:00am this morning. Runners follow a course along the South Burnett Rail Trail and the parkrun group is free to join. Kingaroy Friendship Markets
The third Saturday of the month Friendship Markets will be held at Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy from 7:00am to around 12:00pm today. The markets are jointly run by the Kingaroy Show Society and feature a great range of arts, crafts, fruit and garden stalls, plus unusual bric-a-brac. New stallholders are always very welcome! Annie Junior The Musical - Kingaroy
St Mary's Catholic College in Kent Street, Kingaroy will be presenting their fourth (and final) performance of Annie Junior - The Musical at the Maryknoll Centre in the school's grounds at 6:00pm this evening. Annie Jr is based on the popular comic strip and adapted from the Tony Award-winning musical by Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin. Tickets are just $9.50 for adults, $5.50 for students and pensioners or $24.50 per family, and they can be booked online.
Smoke & Dust At The Palace - Nanango

Yarraman Markets
The Yarraman Progress Association's Yarraman Markets will be held on the vacant block at the corner of the D'Aguilar and New England Highways (ie opposite Bendigo Bank) in Yarraman from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon today. The markets feature trash and treasure stalls, car boot sellers, local produce and hand-made goods, as well as food stalls, and are held weekly. Saturday Rugby League - Nanango
This weekend's local league competition will be played at Fred Kassulke Oval off the D'Aguilar Highway south of Nanango's CBD today. The day will kick off at 8:00am with an U10s match (Kingaroy 2 vs Murgon 2), followed at 8:50am by a second U10s match (Kingaroy 1 vs Cherbourg/Wondai), and then a third U10s match at 9:40am (Murgon 1 vs Nanango). Meanwhile, the U8s games will get underway on a second field, starting at 9:00am with Kingaroy 2 vs Murgon 2, followed at 10:00am with Kingaroy 1 vs Wondai/Cherbourg, and then Nanango vs Murgon 1 at 11:00am. After this, three U12s games will be played at 10:30am (Cherbourg vs Murgon 2), 11:20am (Kingaroy 3 vs U43kgs) and 12:10pm (Nanango vs Murgon 1). Then at 1:00pm, Kingaroy will play Murgon in the U14s, followed at 2:00pm by an U14s match between Nanango and Chinchilla, and then an U18s match at 3:00pm between South Burnett and Warwick. Finally - in A-grade - the in-form Nanango Stags will play Murgon's Mustangs at 4:15pm, followed by a clash between the Kingaroy Red Ants and Wondai Wolves at 5:30pm. A canteen and bar will be operating all day and everyone is welcome! Note: The South Burnett's U16s will be playing away in Oakey today.
Saturday AFL - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Saints will be playing a home game at Lyle Vidler Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy today as part of this year's Darling Downs competition. The Saints' women's team are having a bye this week, but the men's team will be playing the Warwick Redbacks at 2:30pm in a match that promises to be an all-in affair. A bar and canteen will be running onsite and spectators are always welcome.
Western Performance Club Beginner's Show - Nanango
The South Burnett Western Performance Club will be holding a Beginners Show at their grounds in Racecourse Road, Nanango from 9:00am to around 4:30pm today. Judge Helen Bentley will be presiding over this PHAA-approved event, which will be run under HSAA rules. New riders are very welcome (membership of the club is just $10 for participants) and a canteen will be running throughout, with Saturday evening specials and a brekky available tomorrow morning. Spectators are very welcome to come along too, and there's no admission charge. Note: The club will also be holding a Futurity at the grounds tomorrow.
