Not surprisingly, perhaps, the big telcos that supply our region have been
keeping
pretty quiet about this. But if you ring them up and ask what
your options are,
you might be surprised to find that you can now
cut your monthly broadband bill
pretty sizably.
To use ourselves as an example, South Burnett Online is a big broadband user.
And we've been on a 25Gb a month, $99 a month plan for several years
now.
But recently we rang Telstra and found out we could either continue to pay
the same money and double our usage to 50Gb; or stay on our current
bandwidth limit and cut our costs by 50%.
That's a massive price collapse, isn't it?
So this financial year - if you want to lower your monthly overheads
- we suggest you give your own ISP or telco a call. There's no sense in paying far
more than you have to. Especially when it's for something many of us
now regard as an essential in our day-to-day lives.
